Research practicum application process

Follow these steps to apply for HLSC 4998/4999U Research Practicum for 2018-2019:

Step 1

To ensure you are eligible for a research practicum in 2018-2019, you must:

  • Be entering the final year of the Bachelor of Health Science program (Human Health Science specialization, Kinesiology Major or Public Health specialization) or the Bachelor of Allied Health Sciences program for the 2018-2019 academic year.
  • Be in clear academic standing with a GPA of 2.65 or higher.
  • Have successfully completed HLSC 3910U* before September 2018.

Note: HLSC 3910U is a prerequisite for HLSC 4998/4999U.

Step 2

Browse the research practicum projects to select the positions that interest you most.

Note: You can apply for a maximum of three positions. You must rank your choices in order of preference.

Step 3

Fill out the research practicum application form for each project you are interested in. When the form is completed, please combine all documents into one PDF containing all items below:

  • Completed application form.
  • A cover letter detailing your interest in this project/position and why you feel you would be a good fit for the position.
  • A copy of your resume.
  • A copy of your transcript (unofficial is acceptable).

Note: Each project you apply to requires its own PDF, including the application, cover letter, resume and transcript. Please use your name followed by the corresponding project application name as listed on the project description (project application) as the file name (e.g., Adam Smith – Abilities Centre; or Adam Smith – Murphy - Project 1; the name will vary if the tutor has more than one project).

Step 4

Please email your applications to Michelle Sutcliffe, Program Assistant, Health Science and Graduate Programs, no later than noon on Friday, March 2.
