Health Science Comprehensive

This program will introduce you to a broad-based curriculum, enabling you to explore the diverse aspects of health-care delivery, health promotion and promoting human wellness while pursuing studies that build on your particular interests. You will gain an education that will open the door to a challenging career across a broad range of health-related disciplines or lead to graduate studies in a variety of health science disciplines.

Through the integration of various foundation disciplines within our specializations, you will gain an understanding of health issues from the biological, behavioural and demographical principles that will apply in your professional practice.

The BHSc (Hons) program also provides you with the foundation to pursue graduate studies across a broad scope of health science areas, including:

  • Community Health;
  • Health Psychology;
  • Health Science;
  • Kinesiology:
    • Biomechanics;
    • Exercise Physiology;
    • Exercise Rehabilitation;
    • Human Neurophysiology;
    • Motor Behaviour; and
    • Motor Control.

You will also be well prepared to pursue professional programs such as:

  • Chiropractic;
  • Medicine;
  • Occupational therapy; and
  • Physiotherapy.

All FHS students can apply for a fourth-year research practicum that extends throughout their final year of studies. Working under the direction of a research tutor (both UOIT- and community-based), students receive a practical experience that exemplifies the collaborative research process while providing them with a valued opportunity to apply their knowledge in an actual research setting.
