Background

Dr. Sue Coffey completed a diploma in Nursing from George Brown College in 1989; a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurosciences from the University of Toronto in 1993; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Master of Science in Nursing degree from D’Youville College in 1996; and a PhD in Nursing from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. in 2004. Before joining UOIT, she was an Associate Professor in the York University School of Nursing.

She holds a number of honours, including the 2009 Council of Ontario Programs in Nursing (COUPN) Award for Teaching and the 2007 Newcomer Champion Award, Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration. She is currently leading a multi-institutional study of student mobility in Practical Nurse (PN)-Nursing degree bridging programs.
